Student Researchers Shine on Balbo Day

A student presents her research on Balbo Day.

Students showcased a year's worth of research on Balbo Day, an annual event where they present their findings on everything from unusual case studies to research on the link between genetics and dental caries. It's a day when they're transformed from student doctors in scrubs to polished professionals in business suits and office casual wear.

Judges evaluate them on the relevancy and methodology of their research and the clarity of their presentations. Good poster graphics can also go a long way. The event is named for Michael Balbo, a faculty member and student advocate who started the exposition.
