Student Writes Epic Ode to Dentistry and the Human Spirit

Karim Elmorshedy finds poetry in enamel and pulp, dental fissures and occlusion. He transformed it into an epic verse entitled, “Be Like a Tooth, My Friend,” which equates a tooth’s strength and weaknesses to challenges in life that must be overcome.

Dr. Anthony Volpe Funds Scholarship for Economically Disadvantaged Students

At every RSDM White Coat Ceremony, alumnus Dr. Anthony Volpe is there, personally greeting each student and making a promise. “I’m going to remember your name,’’ Volpe, 85, tells them. “I want to see you when you graduate.’’ Volpe recently created an endowed scholarship fund for students in need of financial aid.
