At RSDM, we transform the lives of patients every day. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons heal disfiguring injuries and correct congenital abnormalities. Orthodontists straighten teeth and work with surgeons to ensure jaw alignment. Missing teeth are replaced with bridges and crowns. We stop the pain of cavities, gum disease and infected pulp. For those with chronic orofacial pain, we provide relief.
RSDM is the state’s largest provider of oral healthcare, and we improve public health in the communities we serve by making care more accessible to thousands who couldn’t otherwise afford it.
Annually, we log more than 100,00 patient visits, including more than 6,000 visits to our pediatric clinic. There are typically more than 6,000 visits to our Delta Dental of New Jersey Special Care Clinic, which treats patients with physical disabilities and mental illness. It is one of the only facilities of its kind in the region.
Our state-of-the art Dental Specialty Center provides advanced training to postgraduate students, providing an interdisciplinary approach that changes the model of oral healthcare in New Jersey. The center includes surgical suites for teaching advanced implantology, periodontal surgery, endodontic surgery, and maxillofacial prosthetic surgery, in addition to an orthodontic clinic and a general practice clinic for residents.
Providers at RSDM’s Center for Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial pain include some of the world’s leading authorities in the field, specializing in patients who often have rare disorders that were misdiagnosed by other providers.
At Rutgers Health University Dental Associates, our faculty practice, RSDM instructors work in a private-practice setting in our Newark and New Brunswick offices, treating patients directly rather than overseeing students.
