New Cohort of Students Arrive

RSDM welcomed its new predoctoral students, postdoctoral students, and residents this summer.

From a pool of 3,162 applicants, 91 have been selected to attend the traditional DMD program. Of those, 35 percent come from outside New Jersey. Twenty-two percent of the Class of 2026 holds a Master of Science. Additionally, 21 percent of the class are historically underrepresented minorities in dentistry.

“We had another very robust application cycle this year,” said Associate Dean for Admissions Rosa Chaviano-Moran ’86. “I'm very excited about the diversity of our incoming class, not just in terms of race and ethnicity, but also life and educational experiences. They will bring their unique talents and interests to our school.”

Chaviano-Moran added that RSDM Admissions Office’s approach to crafting the incoming class is rooted in the idea that diversity builds educational excellence.

Moreover, 41 postgraduate students and residents have joined RSDM’s advanced dental education programs, including endodontics, general practice residency, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orofacial pain, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and prosthodontics.
