Their last two years of dental school were spent in the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Class of 2021 graduated last month in a virtual convocation ceremony that underscored their value at time when health care is being radically reshaped.


Colgate-Palmolive Endows Rutgers School of Dental Medicine Program in Memory of Alumnus and Research Pioneer Dr. Anthony R. Volpe

Colgate-Palmolive Company has donated $25,000 to endow the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) New Horizons Program in memory of the late Dr. Anthony R. Volpe, a retired Colgate executive and Rutgers alumnus who founded the program to introduce students to non-traditional careers in oral healthcare. The program is now named the Dr. Tony Volpe New Horizons Program, endowed by Colgate.


Donors and Scholars Connect Online At Annual Event

Fourth-year student Mary Camarano summed up the spirit of this year’s Donor/ Scholar reception, held via Zoom last month. “In a time when everyone is struggling, helping others is the best we can do,’’ said Camarano, who spoke to classmates and donors at the remote ceremony.
