A new exchange program between RSDM and a dental school in India will help students from both institutions learn different lessons.

For RSDM students, it's a chance to see how dentistry is practiced in a nation with a high population of underserved patients and a different healthcare system. "They can broaden their cultural experience,'' says Dr. P.S. Thaha, Chairman of the PMS College of Dental Science & Research in Kerla, India.  "The beauty of an education in India is the number of cases available and the variety. They can see, first-hand, cases they might not see in the U.S."

For students at Thaha's school, visiting RSDM will allow them to see how state-of-the art dentistry is practiced in the U.S. "We want to expose our students to the quality that’s available in other parts of the world,'' he said. "This school is a model of such programs. This is a great chance for us to associate with a university of this caliber. Our students will benefit very much from their exposure.’’

The RSDM/India exchange program will start in the new year.
